Doors as headboards are becoming rather common but these take the concept to a whole new level. If you are lucky enough to come across pieces as wonderful as these snap them up; they will be a once-in-a-lifetime find. The enticing colors knobby studs and curvilinear carvings make these an unforgettable statement. I especially appreciate the unexpected minimalistic lamp that completes this design.
This headboard most certainly had to be custom. Look how its shape fits between the oval windows aligning perfectly and making a beautiful statement in this bedroom design. Reclaimed shutters placed behind a bed add to the romantic charm of this bedroom. Now I wouldn′t have thought of doing this! A beautifully worn mantel becomes a truly unique headboard. Here a collection of worn pieces of wood are assembled in a line creating a very artistic headboard inspiring an organic and natural looking bedroom design.
I′m advocating breaking one of my design rules. Well I don′t really believe in strict design rules but generally I try to keep big investment pieces (like beds) neutral solid and classic and bring in prints patterns bolder colors and trendy fabrics via less permanent items like rugs throw pillows duvet covers and window treatments. However these gorgeous patterned headboards have been screaming for my attention and I cannot ignore them any longer. Would you sleep beneath a patterned headboard? If so what kind of textile or pattern would you use? Let me know in the Comments section!
