These upholstered wall panels create a headboard that draws the eye up to the contemporary tray ceiling. This room is very neutral and modern but the soft tufting and the enveloping edges of the headboard add softness and comfort. An accent wall bordered with light extends across the ceiling and becomes a dramatic modern canopy.
You don′t have to use fabric to execute this idea. At the Upward Bound House interior designer Vanessa De Vargas used wallpaper to create the look of an extended headboard. You can also use a special traditional fabric. Design Sponge blogger Grace Bonney helped educate the masses about traditional Mexican Otomi embroidery with her famous DIY headboard.
Mantel me this. The design team at The Old Painted Cottage takes its company’s name seriously; just look at this headboard made from a 6-foot-wide fireplace mantel. An upholstered center ensures that pillows don’t fall into the surround’s empty cavity.
