If there′s one room where I′ll advocate the most for drama it′s the bedroom. Your bed is the most important piece of furniture in the room in fact sometimes it doesn′t matter if it′s the only piece of furniture in the room! This bed needs to be welcoming relaxing and have a presence. A tall headboard can accomplish this. It can make a low ceiling seem higher and it can keep your bed from looking lost in a bedroom with high ceilings. It also provides a backdrop for your bedscape. I′ve nicknamed these unconventionally high headboards "Tall Boys." Take it away Tall Boys!
When you have a room in which the bed needs to "float" what do you do? Consider a room-divider headboard. This ingenious solution does double duty by blocking the closet from view while creating a dressing room ex nihilo. It also makes the headboard a primary style statement in the room.
A touch of Normandy. You don’t have to scrap your wooden headboard to get a fabric feel. Add to it like the design team responsible for this Francophile bedroom did. A custom valance allows yards of luxurious fabrics to flow gracefully from the ceiling to the floor behind an existing headboard giving the piece a whole new inviting look.
