Beautiful birch. The team behind this guest bedroom’s design took the wooden headboard to new heights with these custom pieces featuring an ornate display of birch branches. The headboards’ natural features track with the rest of the home’s mountain aesthetics.
You don′t have to use fabric to execute this idea. At the Upward Bound House interior designer Vanessa De Vargas used wallpaper to create the look of an extended headboard. You can also use a special traditional fabric. Design Sponge blogger Grace Bonney helped educate the masses about traditional Mexican Otomi embroidery with her famous DIY headboard.
The tall tufted ivory headboard here creates a strong base for a variety of patterns and a burst of peacock blue. When using a patterned wallpaper placing a significant headboard against it is a good move. It gives the bed a strong presence and keeps the pattern of the wallpaper from taking over.
