If there′s one room where I′ll advocate the most for drama it′s the bedroom. Your bed is the most important piece of furniture in the room in fact sometimes it doesn′t matter if it′s the only piece of furniture in the room! This bed needs to be welcoming relaxing and have a presence. A tall headboard can accomplish this. It can make a low ceiling seem higher and it can keep your bed from looking lost in a bedroom with high ceilings. It also provides a backdrop for your bedscape. I′ve nicknamed these unconventionally high headboards "Tall Boys." Take it away Tall Boys!
I′m advocating breaking one of my design rules. Well I don′t really believe in strict design rules but generally I try to keep big investment pieces (like beds) neutral solid and classic and bring in prints patterns bolder colors and trendy fabrics via less permanent items like rugs throw pillows duvet covers and window treatments. However these gorgeous patterned headboards have been screaming for my attention and I cannot ignore them any longer. Would you sleep beneath a patterned headboard? If so what kind of textile or pattern would you use? Let me know in the Comments section!
This tall headboard leaves plenty of room for a seriously designed bedscape: tall pillows shams and a big bolster have plenty of room and a strong backdrop. This Tall Boy stands proudly between two tall floor lamps. The combination is such a smart solution — it keeps the floor clear and clean while providing a shelf for reading materials and an alarm clock.
